CIO Letter to Parents - Nov 2019

Dear Parents,

We wrote to you last year to tell you about our Parent Committee’s plans to change the legal structure of Tollerton Playgroup from an unincorporated association (i.e. a Charity) to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

The aim of this transition is to attract more parents and carers onto the Parent Committee by protecting the trustees from any personal and financial liabilities.

We are delighted to inform you that we officially became a CIO on 1st November 2019, following receipt of our new Ofsted registration certificate.

Behind the scenes, the Committee has worked hard to ensure this change has not affected the day to day running of our Playgroup. This is something that will not change over the coming months as we move into the final stages of closing down the unincorporated charity.

We are required to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to dissolve the unincorporated charity. This will take place on Tuesday 26th November 2019 at 8pm at Playgroup. All parents are invited to attend; please complete and return the slip below.
