Confirmed case 2 - Public Health England advice sought - Playgroup remains open today
Dear Parents / Carers
We have this morning been alerted to the fact that a second member of staff has tested positive for Covid-19. She was last in work at Playgroup on Monday 12th October, and began showing mild symptoms yesterday (Thurs 15th), at which point she was tested and the positive result came back today.
Once again, we have alerted the authorities (Ofsted and NottsCC) and have taken advice from Public Health England (PHE) as per our protocols. PHE has advised that because the member of staff was not showing symptoms when she was last at Playgroup, and because of the timeline, Playgroup does not need to close. They have also advised it is unlikely this second staff case and the first staff case we told you about on Tuesday 13th October are related. The last occasion on which the two members of staff concerned worked together was Wednesday 7th October.
We fully understand that parents / carers may wish to pick their child up from Playgroup if they are attending today, and it is entirely your choice if you feel this is the best course of action for your family.
Please rest assured that we are taking every possible precaution to keep all our children and staff safe. Additional cleaning, handwashing and temperature checks are being done, social distancing is being adhered to, and another deep clean is booked during the two week half term break. We are also looking to see if it is possible to secure regular testing for staff as key workers and whether any additional facial protection (visors etc) are advisable.
If you have any questions or concerns, please have a chat with Tracey. We ask all our families to remain vigilant and to look after themselves during the two week half term break. Please keep in touch, and we will continue to do the same and update you if the situation changes.
Best wishes
Clare
