Update 1 for Parents - Coronavirus
Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to give you an update on the coronavirus following the latest news yesterday from the government.
As the country moves from the containment phase to the delay phase of the disease, it is important that we follow the advice we are given to help prevent the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19.
In light of this, from today (Friday 13th March 2020), please do not bring your child to playgroup if they have a new continuous cough or a temperature, no matter how mild. They must not come to playgroup and must self-isolate for 7 days. In addition, if you yourself have these symptoms, please do not come into playgroup. Children who arrive at playgroup with or develop a high temperature and cough whilst at playgroup, parents and carers will be contacted so that children can be sent home.
We have been doing lots of work on hygiene at playgroup and would appreciate it if you could support what we are doing at home. This includes:
washing hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds
encouraging children to independently wipe noses, sneeze or cough into tissues and then discard the used tissue immediately.
if children cough or sneeze into their hands, please encourage thorough hand washing afterwards to prevent the spread of germs.
if children are unable to reach a tissue in time, please encourage them to sneeze or cough into their elbow.
In addition, other measures which we are taking at playgroup are as follows:
we are encouraging hand washing in between activiies
staff are washing hands and using hand sanitiser continuously
continual cleaning and anti bac of toys
