CIO Letter to Parents - Sept 2018

26th September 2018 Dear Parents, You may be aware from our Annual General Meeting, held in April, that Playgroup’s Parent Committee has been exploring the possibility of changing the legal structure of Tollerton Playgroup from an unincorporated association (i.e. a Charity) to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). This is a transition that many pre-school settings appear to be going through in a bid to attract more parents and carers onto their Parent Committees by protecting the trustees from any personal and financial liabilities. The change will not affect the day to day running of our Playgroup; it is more something that will happen behind the scenes over the coming year. Our ant

Get rockin’ with Tolly rocks!

You may have noticed on your travels though Tollerton that there seem to be lots of painted rocks appearing all over the place which then disappear and reappear somewhere else! It’s all part of a growing national trend that’s now arrived on our doorsteps, which aims to get youngsters out and about into the fresh air whilst tapping into their creative talents. Keep calm, Playgroup’s back!

A very warm welcome back to everyone at Playgroup, particularly to our new children and their families! The summer seems to have shot by in a blur of sun-cream and ice-lollies, but it’s great to be back and to tell you our news. Over the holidays, Steve - our lovely caretaker - has been doing lots of maintenance in and around the Playgroup building. We’ve also been making improvements to our forest school area. The existing wooden pallets now have ‘legs’ so they’re on more of a level with our little ones. Our mud kitchen is under construction!
