Recycle, reycle, we’re going to recycle!
Any little Peppa Pig fan probably knows the recycling episode off by heart, and watches it with glee every time it appears on the TV. Parents, on the other hand, usually let out a silent groan as they hear that catchy “recycle, recycle, we’re going to recycle” tune for the millionth time!
There’s a serious message there though, and we all know how important it is to recycle where we can. Our children will still be living on this planet long after we’re gone, so it’s really important to teach them from an early age about re-using things and being creative.
That’s where you come in! We’re always happy at Playgroup to take off your hands the following sorts of items: tubes from cling film or foil, bubble wrap, empty tissue boxes, swatches, bits of fabric, buttons, ribbons, scrap paper, old headed paper or magazines and bits of cardboard.
Unfortunately we’re not allowed to accept egg cartons, milk bottle tops, toilet rolls, or anything else that’s come into contact with food or toilets - for obvious health and safety reasons!
Every now and again, there’s also something specific that we’re after; for example, we’re currently looking for some wooden pallets and large cardboard wheels that electrical cables are stored on for our forest school.
Keep an eye on our facebook page (@ Tollerton Playgroup) and website (www.tollertonplaygroup.com) for these sorts of special requests, and in the meantime, please do keep sending recyclable things in.
Our little ones love getting creative with your “rubbish,” plus it also saves us money on essential resources.
As the saying goes, “one man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure!”
