Summer fun for the small folk-part 2!

Here’s the second of our stories about how to make memories with your little folk during the summer holidays. So put the tablets away, switch off the TV and get out and about! A little bit of imagination goes a long way…

1. Camp and craft! Make bunting, a wind chime, kite, fairy house, sun catcher, bird feeder… paint plant pots, or press flowers. Camp outside for the night, and decorate your tent with your creations! You don’t have to spend lots on materials either, just reuse and recycle. 2. Become a beach bum! Have a day at the seaside and discover fossils, shells, and other treasures. Go crabbing or have a sandcastle competition. And if your tot needs to burn off more energy, try a water bucket relay, long jump or beach bowling! 3. Have a party! Turn on the tunes and become disco divas for the day. Practice your wiggling and jiggling! And when you’ve run out of steam, plan a midnight feast to replenish those energy supplies. Fear not grown-ups, you can always pretend it’s midnight by forwarding the clocks on when your tot isn’t looking! 4. Write postcards! Buy a postcard from all the places you visit and write to a special friend or family member. Visit the post office to buy your stamps – you never know, they may be the latest special edition picture stamps! Pop your cards into the postbox, ready for Postman Pat to deliver on his next round. 5. Make a scrapbook! Capture all your summer fun in a little scrap book. It’s a wonderful way of making your memories last long after the hot summer days have passed. Plus, your child might also enjoy sharing it with their friends on their return to Playgroup, nursery or at their new school.
